Editorial Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how IPTV News produces its journalism and other content, and what readers can expect from us. Questions about it can be sent to info@iptvnews.site.
Our principles
- Accuracy: we report what can be verified and say clearly what is uncertain.
- Transparency: we link to our sources and label every article's type.
- Independence: we decide what to cover and what to say, free from commercial influence.
- Usefulness: we publish content that helps readers understand and act, not content made only to attract search traffic.
- Lawfulness: we don't promote or facilitate piracy or other unlawful activity.
Content types
Every article carries one of the following labels, shown at the top of the page and in article listings:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| News | Reporting on a specific, recent development, based on cited sources |
| Explainer | Background on how a technology or concept works |
| Guide | Practical advice to help readers make a decision or complete a task |
| Tutorial | Step-by-step instructions for a specific task |
| Troubleshooting | A structured approach to diagnosing and fixing a problem |
| Analysis | Interpretation of developments and evidence; draws conclusions grounded in cited facts |
| Opinion | The view of the IPTV News editorial team, clearly labelled and kept separate from news |
We don't publish reviews based on hands-on testing unless we have actually tested the product. Comparisons based on published specifications and documentation say so clearly.
How articles are researched
- We start with primary sources: regulators, courts and law enforcement announcements, standards documents, official company announcements, help centers and technical documentation.
- We cross-check with reputable reporting from established news and trade publications.
- We don't invent anything. We do not fabricate news, statistics, quotations, sources, companies, events, reviews or credentials.
- We note dates. For fast-moving subjects such as prices and features, we state when information was published or checked.
How sources are selected
We prefer sources that are:
- Primary: the organization, document or person directly involved
- Authoritative: official bodies, standards organizations and recognized experts
- Reputable: publications with editorial standards and correction practices
- Current: the most recent reliable version of the information
External links have an editorial purpose: to show where information comes from or to help readers go deeper. We don't accept payment for links, and we don't add links for search-engine purposes.
How factual claims are checked
Before publication, factual claims are checked against the cited sources. In particular, we check:
- Names, titles, dates and numbers against the original source
- That quotations are accurate, attributed and in context
- That claims are not stated more strongly than the evidence supports
- That technical instructions match current official documentation as far as we can determine
Where facts are disputed or still developing, we say so.
Use of AI tools
We may use software tools, including AI writing and research assistants, to help with research, drafting, editing and checking. AI tools are not a source. Every fact must be verified against a reliable source, and every article is reviewed and approved by the editorial team before publication. The editorial team is responsible for everything we publish.
Bylines
Articles are published under the byline IPTV News Editorial Team. We don't attribute articles to named individuals with credentials we can't show.
Updates
Technology, prices and services change. When we materially update an article, we change its Updated date. Minor fixes to spelling, formatting or broken links may be made without changing the date. News articles may be updated as a story develops, and significant new information is noted in the text.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and openly. See our Corrections Policy.
Sponsored content and advertising
We currently publish no sponsored content, advertising or affiliate links. If that changes:
- Sponsored content will be clearly labelled "Sponsored", with the sponsor named, and kept separate from editorial content
- Advertisements will be clearly distinguishable from articles
- Affiliate links will be disclosed on the page where they appear
- Advertisers and sponsors will have no control over our editorial content
See our Advertising and Sponsored Content Disclosure.
Editorial independence
- No company, advertiser or service provider can pay for coverage, approve articles before publication or change our conclusions.
- We don't promote, sell or link to unlicensed IPTV services.
- If we ever have a relationship with a company we cover, we will disclose it in the article.
Opinion
Opinion articles are labelled Opinion, state that they represent the editorial team's view and are still held to our standards of factual accuracy.
